THE POSITION

As Business Intelligence & Feasibility Intern, you'll be an addition to the commercial team and reporting directly to the BI & Feasibility Manager. During the internship, you will learn to perform in-depth market research and the performance of multiple international brands from our three partners Marriott International, Intercontinental Hotel Group, and Accor. Based on the collected data, you will assist in preparing pro forma financial models for new hotel opportunities. In this role, you will have the chance to help the group expand over Europe. Additionally, you will support in streamlining data and consolidating available sources by creating and updating reader-friendly reports and dashboards to monitor companies' KPIs. Besides your daily tasks, there is a lot of room for your own input and projects. We are always curious to see how you will have the best learning experience during your internship.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support with screening markets and hotel development opportunities within Europe including potential business and leisure demand drivers that could drive business operations for the proposed hotel.

• Prepare pro-proforma profit and loss statements (USALI) based on market information.

• Determining competitive sets and actively analyzing their operating performance, including historical data to improve the market position of Odyssey hotels.

• Actively participate in open conversations with consultants, and market and brand experts to discuss the potential for hotel projects and their KPIs.

• Collect and organize relevant raw data files from various sources to update and maintain dashboards and reports.

• Update relevant benchmarks and other comparisons that can be used to optimize hotel performance.

• Create visuals to make data insightful, engaging, and actionable for all stakeholders including property leaders.

• Active participation in continuous improvement of tools and workflows within the relatively young department.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Student at a university (preferably Hospitality Management, or Finance, Economics, Business Informatics)

• Working experience in an international hotel organization.

• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel skills.

• Have advanced knowledge of financial modeling.

• You are fluent in English, written and spoken, Dutch and/or German is a significant advantage.

• You have the potential to demonstrate strong technical and business acumen.

• Being familiar with the IHG or Marriott Revenue Management/data systems, Opera PMS, as well as Fairmas, PowerBI, Microsoft 365 Suite and related systems is a big advantage.
