GROUPS & EVENTS MANAGER

As Groups & Events Manager, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end management of group bookings and events across our hotel portfolio, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.

Based at our Headquarters in Frankfurt, you will lead the Groups & Events team, ensuring commercial success, operational excellence, and outstanding client experiences.

You act as the key link between clients, commercial teams, and hotel operations, ensuring that every event is delivered flawlessly and aligned with Odyssey’s business goals.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, coach, and develop the Groups & Events team, including Sales Specialists and Event Planners
• Set clear performance expectations, monitor progress, and conduct regular performance reviews
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on service excellence and accountability
• Ensure continuous training and development aligned with company standards and industry trends

Commercial & Revenue Responsibility
• Oversee all group and event sales activities, ensuring targets and service levels are met or exceeded
• Collaborate with Revenue, Sales, and Marketing to optimize pricing strategies and group yield
• Identify and drive upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the portfolio
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends

Client & Business Development
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, corporate partners, and event planners
• Act as the escalation point for complex bookings, VIP clients, and high-value events
• Represent Odyssey at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to generate new business

Operational Excellence & Event Execution
• Ensure consistent planning and execution of all events, maintaining brand and service standards
• Oversee event delivery from contract to completion, ensuring a seamless guest experience
• Lead pre-event briefings and post-event debriefs to drive continuous improvement
• Monitor on-site execution and troubleshoot when necessary

Financial & Performance Management
• Review and approve proposals, contracts, and event orders to ensure profitability and accuracy
• Monitor and analyze KPIs, forecasts, and business performance, reporting to senior management
• Ensure accurate handling of billing, invoicing, and contract management
• Maintain compliance with financial procedures and brand standards

Job requirements

• Proven experience in Groups & Events management, hotel sales, or event operations, ideally in an international hospitality environment

• Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing teams toward performance targets

• A clear commercial mindset, with the ability to drive revenue, optimize pricing strategies, and identify business opportunities

• Experience in handling high-value events, key accounts, and complex client requirements

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

• Strong organizational and operational capabilities, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously

• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue, Sales, Marketing, and hotel operations teams

• Experience with CRM systems and hotel systems (Opera is a plus)

• Fluent in German and English

• A hands-on, solution-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset, aligned with a fast-paced environment
