Are you ready to begin an exciting adventure in hospitality? At Sapphire House Antwerp, a five star hotel in a beautifully restored 16th‑century landmark, we are looking for a dynamic and motivated Executive Chef to lead our kitchen operation, including the repositioning of the Sapphire Bistro. What you will:

  • Lead a large, multicultural and dynamic kitchen team in one of Antwerp’s most exciting restaurants, ensuring every aspect reflects the five‑star experience of Sapphire House Antwerp.

  • Drive innovation and foster a culture of continual menu development, ensuring that breakfast, lunch and dinner remain seasonal, invigorating and consistently aligned with guest expectations.

  • Maintain firm control over kitchen costs, from labour to operational efficiencies, while preserving the quality and integrity of the menu.

  • Place both guest and team experience at the centre of your work. You will lead by example, keep your team engaged and motivated, and ensure they feel empowered and supported to deliver exceptional moments for our guests.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Create inspiring culinary experiences by designing refined menus for our all‑day dining outlets, showcasing originality and consistency.

  • Lead and uplift your team of talented chefs, fostering collaboration, growth and a positive, motivating atmosphere.

  • Ensure smooth cooperation with meetings and events, delivering precision and elegance matching our location

  • Communicate with clarity, building strong connections with stakeholders in and outside the hotel and supporting effective daily coordination.

  • Use data intelligently through tools such as PMI or similar budgeting platforms, while working confidently with digital systems and maintaining strong overall computer literacy to support informed decision‑making.

  • Optimise procurement processes through experience with platforms such as HSM and a strong understanding of Belgian suppliers, especially in Antwerp.

  • Safeguard all compliance standards, including HACCP requirements and relevant union regulations.

Job requirements

  • Culinary Expertise: Proven experience as a Chef in a high‑quality hotel kitchen.

  • Creative Excellence: Ability to design and deliver innovative, guest‑focused menus.

  • Strong Team Spirit: Collaborative approach supported by clear, professional communication.

  • Adaptability: Confidence in performing at a high level in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Food Safety Knowledge: Solid understanding of HACCP and strict adherence to hygiene standards.

  • Passion for the Craft: Genuine enthusiasm for culinary arts and exceptional cuisine.

  • Financial Awareness: Strong grasp of food cost management and operational efficiency.
